ABOUT

Rockaway Summer House is a not-for-profit retreat center and art organization in New York City that runs entirely on donations. Located in a quiet neighborhood of the Rockaway peninsula, in Queens, easily accessible by urban dwellers via public transportation but remote enough from the hustle and bustle of the city center to ensure a climate of peace and serenity.

Launched in December 2016, the center offers weekly free residential retreats focusing on meditation and other contemplative practices that lead to peace of mind like yoga, reiki, and chi-gung. A member and volunteer supported endeavor, Rockaway Summer House provides free art programs, urban farming workshops, and ecological sustainability classes to the community of the Rockaway peninsula.

Rockaway Summer House is a project by non-profit organization Buddhist Insights and creative collective Rockaway Summer. As a 501c-3 grassroots organization all donations are tax-deductible. If you’d like to make a donation to support the center, please contact us.
