WORKSHOP

PALI CLASS

Sunday Apr 8th, 7pm
The oldest Buddhist texts are written in Pāli, an ancient Indic language closely related to Sanskrit. So if we wish to develop a thorough knowledge of Buddhist thought, it is extremely helpful to learn Pāli. This series of classes, taught by Bhante Suddhāso, will work progressively through the book “Introduction to Pāli” by A.K. Warder.

BEYOND SUFFERING WITH AJAHN JAYANTO

Weekend: Apr 10th-22nd
“But I don’t have any suffering!” people often say when they encounter Buddhist teachings. So just what is meant when we speak about suffering (dukkha) – and more importantly, what can we do to overcome it? Ajahn Jayanto, a senior monk from the Thai Forest Tradition of Ajahn Chah, will be leading a weekend retreat exploring our experience of dukkha and how to transcend it.

BLISSFUL WISDOM WITH BHANTE VIMALARAMSI

WORKSHOP

A SLICE OF PEACE: BREAD MAKING & MEDITATION

Sunday May 6th, 1pm
Bread-baking is a lot like meditation practice: learn the techniques, carefully apply them, and patiently wait for results to manifest. And since most of the time involved in baking bread is patiently waiting for dough to rise and loaves to bake, that gives us plenty of opportunities to meditate and discuss our practice. So join us for an afternoon of bread-baking and Buddhist meditation: you’ll learn how to shape loaves – and, more importantly, how to shape your mind.
